Eagle Flight Safety Products is proud to join the WorldFlight2000 team as a safety equipment sponsor!

Complete details and pictures of the WorldFlight2000 Survival System can be found at the Eagle Flight Safety Products Website.

The survival system Eagle developed for WorldFlight2000 comprised three components:

Survival Education Kit
"To survive is first and foremost a decision......and then an action!"
A few months prior to the flight's departure date, Eagle supplied the WorldFlight crew with a Survival Education Package. This package, made up of leading survival publications, review checklists, and videos provided the crew with an overview of potential survival situations as wel as the tools and techniques for effectively managing those situations. Mentally preparing the crew for potential emergency situations before they fly the aircraft, increases their chances of safety and survival should an actual emergency occur.

Primary Aircraft Survival Kit
The primary aircraft survival kit developed for WorldFlight's "Dreamcatcher" aircraft is the Eagle ME Aircraft Survival Kit. The ME stands for Multi-Environment which means the kit carries items important for survival in the range of climates likely to be encountered during the flight. The purpose of a primary aircraft survival kit is to provide the essential medical items, tools, shelter, food, and water necessary for sustaining the crew for a period of time. Because of the unique nature of this particular flight, we wanted to supply the WorldFlight crew with a kit that not only would be useful in a survival situation, but also one that could be used on an "as needed" or utility basis - such as for minor medical, camping, and general crew comfort needs.

The Eagle ME Aircraft Survival Kit measures 14"x14"x27" and weighs 36 pounds. Initially, our target was to design a comprehensive kit to sustain two crewmembers for 24-48 hours and weigh about 30 pounds. However, it was later decided that Jesse Weiscz, the Worldflight2000 photographer, would also be flying on the aircraft during certain legs of the flight. We therefore increased the complement of personal protection devices and sustenance rations to accommodate a third crewmember.

The Eagle ME Aircraft Survival Kit is unique in that it is unitized into 4 compartments: First-Aid; Emergency Devices; Sustenance; and Shelter/Personal Protection Devices. These compartments are contained in three portable cases and one overpack carry bag. The cases and carry bag feature insulated construction to protect the kit contents from wide ranging temperatures. The cases and carry bag also feature highly reflective striping to allow the kit to be easily located within the aircraft cabin during darkness.

Aircrew Emergency Egress Kit
Each WorldFlight2000 flight crewmember has their own Aircrew Emergency Egress Kit, or as we call them - "Grab 'n Go" Bag. As its name implies, these kits are used in the event the crew has to rapidly exit the aircraft (such as in the event of leaking fuel, cabin fire, sinking, etc.) and are unable to extract their primary aircraft survival kit. Inside each "Grab 'n Go" Bag are first-aid, fire starting, sheltering, and sustenance supplies.
